Linneman Hearse Factory Maryville, Missouri

In the early 1900s the Linneman Hearse Factor on North Buchanan just south of the Maryville Electric complex built motorized hearses.

Here are articles:
The hearse company originally started as a carriage company in 1900 at 310 North Main. 1900 OCR: J. LINNEMAN, Carriage and Buggy Repairing and Painting. All work is promptly done and guaranteed. 310 NORTH MAIN STREET. https://www.newspapers.com/article/the-maryville-daily-forum-linneman-carri/187917713/

1908 OCR: SHIPS COSTLY HEARSE FRIDAY The Linneman hearse factory of this city made a shipment of a hearse on Friday, which was purchased by McGregor & Babbitt. Undertakers of Creston, Iowa, for $750. Every bit of the work on the hearse. Except for some silver filigree work! It was done in the Linneman shops on North Buchanan Street. Three months were consumed in building the vehicle, which is by far the handsomest ever turned out here. Instead of the usual glass panes, carved wood panels were used, with a pleasing effect. The drapery relief work in the panels is beautiful, as are the carved lilies and drapery cords. Mr. Linneman did the carving himself. Mr. Linneman is working on a less expensive hearse, which will soon be shipped to F. L. Wetmore of Blanchard, Iowa.
