EUGENE KING MADE THE WINNING RURAL GRADE Pupil of the South Wild Cat School Gets Four-Year Scholarship In the Normal. EDNA HUGHES A CLOSE SECOND Mirroe Township Pupil Just OneTenth of a Point Below First Prize Winner and Gets Second Scholarship. The rural examinations held in Nodaway county two weeks ago resulted in diplomas being issued to 95 pupils and the system of rural examination was given an impetus that will result in more pupils taking the examinations from year to year. Eugene King, a pupil of South Wild Cat school, near Clyde, made the highest average grade in the county and gets the four-year free scholarship offered by the Northwest State Normal. He made an average cf 93 9-10. Edna Hughes, a student lot Union Valley school, near Skidmore, made the second highest grade ber average being 93 2-5, and she gets a four-year course in the Maryville High school. Mamie Harmon, Harmon school, near Barnard, came third with an average of 92 4-5; Lucile Snowberger of Morgan school near Graham, was fourth, with an average of 92½; Nell Talbott, Morgan school, near Graham, had the fifth place with an average of 91 3-5. The scholarships for the three last mentioned have mot yet been awarded. The three scholarships are twoyear courses in Maryville High school, $40 scholarship in Maryville Business ‘college, and $25 scholarship in Maryville Conservatory of Music.
